Jana Revedin presente son dernier ouvrage édité dans la collection manifesto de Gallimard. Cet essai collectif est un manifeste pour l’architecture de demain. Sous pression des grandes transitions, l’architecture est face à de nouveaux défis : réadapter l’habitat au changement climatique et à l’urbanisation grandissante, réguler l’emploi de la matière et de l’énergie, écouter les besoins des sociétés. Le postionnement théorique et pedagogique de Jana Revedin invite à repenser les ressources de l’architecture, en posant les suivantes questions: Est-il toujours question pour l’architecte/l´architecture de maîtriser (l’espace, les normes sociales, l’économie et l´ecologie urbaine…) en facon monodisciplinaire, autonome, atosuffisante ? Ne serait-il pas plus pertinent de chercher à révéler le potentiel d’une situation, d´un lieu et de son milieu ?

Née à Constance (Allemagne), Jana Revedin est architecte diplômée du Politecnico de Milan et docteure en architecture et urbanisme de l’université IUAV de Venise, habilitée à la direction de recherche. Professeur à l’École spéciale d’architecture de Paris et professeur invitée à l’École nationale supérieure d’architecture de Lyon, elle est membre du laboratoire de recherche LAURE « Environnement, ville, société » (CNRS) et déléguée de l’UNESCO à la commission d’éducation et de recherche de l’UIA. De 2005 à 2012, elle dirige le concours étudiant européen d’architecture durable gau:di. En 2006, elle crée le Global Award for Sustainable Architecture, donnant vie à un collectif mondial d’échange et d’expérimentation scientifique et professionnelle. Sa théorie de « conception radicante » propose la transformation collective de la ville contemporaine à partir d’une morphologie « en oeuvre ouverte », en processus participatifs. Auteure d’ouvrages de référence sur l’architecture et la ville durables, elle est lauréate du prix Teaching Excellence AESOP (2013) et du prix global du concours Urban Revitalization of Mass Housing d’UN Habitat (2014). Chevalier des Arts et lettres en 2014, elle est récompensée par l’Académie d’architecture (Médaille de la direction de la meilleure thèse de doctorat, 2016, et Médaille de la prospective, 2017).
