Mesure et dé-mesure. Mesurer l’incertitude.

Le séminaire de recherche « Incertitudes » explore les parts d’indétermination, de tâtonnements et d’intranquillité avec lesquelles nous avons à composer, aussi bien dans nos pratiques d’architectes que de chercheurs ou d’enseignants. Comment se ressaisir de ces attributs traditionnellement définis par « le manque de … », en apprivoiser les zones de clair-obscur, en faire reconnaître la valeur ?

Cette séance sera consacrée à l’artiste, l’artisan et l’architecte qui effectuent de multiples opérations de mesure. Ils calculent, proportionnent, arpentent, quantifient… Dans le même temps, ils se confrontent à ce qui échappe à la maîtrise de l’œuvre et produisent du non mesurable. Cette séance interrogera les relations entre mesure et démesure, de la conception du projet à l’expérience d’habiter. L’exploration du déterminé et de l’indéterminé, du prévu et de l’inattendu questionnera la part d’indicible, de désir, de poésie et de sensibilité nécessaires aux compétences de « l’homo faber ».
