« Projet de promotion et alternatives heureuses sur l’ilot Béchevelin. La mise en débat par le projet dessiné.

La pensée du territoire aujourd’hui est trop souvent réduite à des enjeux quantitatifs et fonctionnels : programme, flux, densité … Elle s’élabore dans l’étroitesse des étages supérieurs d’une pyramide où élus, fonctionnaires et promoteurs définissent ensembles les grandes lignes d’une politique de chiffres et de bilans. Les ‘sachants et concepteurs’ de l’urbain, de l’architecture ou du paysage, eux, ne sont appelés qu’en aval de ces décisions de haut vol, sollicités afin d’apporter des réponses concrètes aux bancales questions que ces politiques lacunaires soulèvent. Or, à mauvaise question nulle bonne réponse et une telle vision comptable engendre une urbanité inapte à répondre tant aux enjeux majeurs de l’époque qu’aux attentes essentielles du corps citoyen. Hypothèse est faite ici qu’une urbanité pleinement désirable, démocratique et durable ne peut qu’émerger d’un dialogue fécond avec le territoire et donc ses habitants. Il s’agit alors de réfléchir et mettre en œuvre les moyens d’encapaciter ce corps citoyen quant à appréhender et faire sien la complexité du territoire et qu’ensembles, concepteurs et habitants, puissent écrire la phrase urbaine de demain. En tant qu’architectes praticiens, nous expérimentons aujourd’hui cette démarche à travers deux exemples au sein desquels le dessin joue un rôle prépondérant :

  • l’ilot Béchevelin dans le 7ème lyonnais et la proposition d’alternatives heureuses à un projet urbain délétère au sein du collectif Habitons Mazagran.
  • l’étude urbaine prospective sur la commune de Chânes, village viticole du mâconnais

Ces occasions, aussi diverses soient-elles, s’appuient sur la représentation dessinée et notamment le dessin-projet/fiction afin de donner à comprendre (au sens de « saisir ensemble ») le territoire et d’en esquisser le dessein.

Biographie
Antoine Begel, Alexis Stremsdoerfer et Martin Rollin sont trois architectes associés au sein de l’atelier Commune. Formés à Paris et Nancy, enseignants à l’ENSAL et à l’ENSACF, doctorants pour certains, leurs brasses se croisent en eaux pesmoises à l’occasion d’un séminaire d’architecture organisé par B.Quirot. Au gré de leurs projets et recherches ils s’intéressent tout particulièrement au dessin à la main, en questionnent la place et le rôle à l’heure du tout numérique, en expérimentent les potentialités en tant que mode d’enquête collective au service d’un territoire.
